Welcome to Immigrant Experiences: Building Global Citizenship! TransformationCentral.org honors and supports the brave immigrants who have come to the United States, today and since the colonization of this country. For most of us immigrants, the desire to move and to leave behind our birthplaces was unimaginable until we were confronted with economic or political injustice. US foreign policy has often been to blame for our dislocation because it serves corporate interests, protecting oppressive dictators and corrupting, imprisoning or eliminating the true leaders of our peoples. If the US government stood for true democracy here and abroad, the desire to leave our birthplaces would have been minimal. We invite you to send us stories about why you and your families came to this country. We at TransformationCentral.org support global citizenship. When capital can move freely across borders in search of the lowest wages or most lax environmental laws, leaving unemployment and devastation in its wake, we the worlds’ peoples should also be able to move in order to survive and thrive. Instead, we are denied our rights, hunted down, and deported. We invite you to share your stories of organizing to defend your rights and make this country live up to its ideals of democracy, freedom and equality. |

This $5,000 fine could lead to preemptive admission of the “crime” of undocumented immigration which makes it difficult to qualify for permanent residence or citizenship.
