Solidarity Economy as a Strategy for Changing the Economy
The moderator, Ethel Cote, introduces the purpose and structure of the workshop, and everyone introduces themselves.
Mike Lewis presents his conceptual framework and diagrammatic representation of the solidarity economy.

Questions are asked about Mike Lewis's model.
Nancy Neantam describes her work in the Canadian Social Solidarity Economy, as director of the Chantier de l’économie sociale in Quebec.
Nedda Angulo Villareal, from el Grupo Red de Economia Solidaria del Peru, explains the conditions in Peru that foster and shape the national solidarity economy.
Questions are asked about Nancy and Nedda's presentations.

An audience member asks for some of the participants to give more examples of the solidarity economy, and several other audience members talk about initiatives, including a technical school in Chicago, recuperated factories in Argentina, and localization movements in California.

General questions are asked, including questions about how to maintain the distinction between solidarity economy practices and mainstream economy practices, and about how to remain accountable to our values.

Mike Lewis wraps up the session, describes the formation of the North American Network for the Solidarity Economy (NANSE), and talks about the potential to create solidarity economy networks in the United States.
